Key Metrics Dashboard brings together the core rate, cost, and sales-mix indicators from across Harmonize into a single chronological view, broken out by card brand and method of payment (MOP Name).
Because effective rates, cost per unit, and sales mix all move together as your card and processing mix shifts, tracking them side by side on one page makes it easier to spot which MOP Name is driving a change in your overall cost profile before it shows up in your bottom line.
This dashboard displays settled data by default. Use the Funding Method filter to include conveyed data.
Each chart title ends with whichever dimension that chart's Group control is set to, so the headings below describe the charts at their default grouping. Changing a chart's Group changes both what is plotted and what the chart is called — worth keeping in mind when sharing a screenshot or comparing against this page.
Effective Rate by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Effective Rate (%)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection (for example Chase Credit, Discover, Mastercard, Pulse, Visa)
Total fees as a percentage of net sales for each card brand or method of payment. Use this chart as the first stop for spotting whether a specific MOP Name is carrying a disproportionately high rate.
Effective Cost Per Unit by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Effective Cost per Unit ($)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Total fees divided by transaction count for each MOP Name. Pairs with Effective Rate to show whether a cost change is driven by per-transaction fees or by average ticket size.
Network Cost Per Unit by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Network Cost per Unit ($)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Network fees divided by transaction count for each MOP Name, isolating the network-fee component of your per-transaction cost.
Interchange Cost Per Unit by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Interchange Cost per Unit ($)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Interchange fees divided by transaction count for each MOP Name, isolating the interchange-fee component of your per-transaction cost — typically the largest driver of Effective Cost per Unit.
Effective Network Rate by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Effective Network Rate (%)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Network fees as a percentage of net sales for each MOP Name.
Effective IC Rate by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Effective IC Rate (%)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Interchange fees as a percentage of net sales for each MOP Name — generally the largest component of Effective Rate, so this chart is the fastest way to confirm whether a rate move is interchange-driven.
Effective Acquirer Rate by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Effective Acquirer Rate (%)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Acquirer fees as a percentage of net sales for each MOP Name.
Downgrade Rate by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Downgrade Rate (%)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
The percentage of sales that incurred downgrade fees for each MOP Name. A rising line here is worth cross-referencing against the Interchange Savings Dashboard to identify the specific downgrade reason.
Sales Mix %
-
Y-Axis: Share of Net Sales (%)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Measure: Multi-select — choose from % Debit Sales, % Consumer Credit Sales, and % Commercial Sales
Tracks how the overall sales mix shifts across debit, consumer credit, and commercial card categories over time. Unlike the other charts on this dashboard, this panel is grouped by measure rather than by MOP Name.
Average Sale by MOP Name
-
Y-Axis: Average Sale ($)
-
X-Axis: Time period
-
Lines: One per MOP Name in the current Group / Top N selection
Net sales divided by transaction count for each MOP Name. Use this alongside Effective Cost per Unit — a MOP Name with a high cost per unit but also a high average sale may still carry a competitive Effective Rate.
Filtering Tips
-
Date Period: Defaults to the last 6 months including the current month — use the Date Period selector at the top of the page to narrow to a specific quarter or month
-
Trendline: Toggle to show or hide trendlines across all charts on the page; defaults to Hide
-
Funding Method: The dashboard defaults to settled data only — open Filters and adjust Funding Method to include conveyed transactions
-
Group, Top N, and Date Granularity: Each chart panel has its own set of these three controls, so you can drill into a single chart (for example, changing its Group to Acquirer, or its Date Granularity to Weekly) without affecting the rest of the page. Top N defaults to 5. Hover over the Top N info icon to see which metric that chart's ranking is based on.
Use Case Example
"We want to know if a specific card brand is driving up our overall interchange cost."
Review Effective IC Rate by MOP Name to see which MOP Name has the highest or fastest-rising interchange rate
Cross-reference with Interchange Cost Per Unit by MOP Name to see whether the increase is rate-driven or volume-driven
Check Sales Mix % to see whether that MOP Name's underlying card category is also growing as a share of total sales, which would compound the cost impact
