Qualification Summary

The Qualification Summary dashboard gives you a high-level view of interchange qualification across your portfolio. Use it to understand how your transaction volume is distributed across qualification groups, track downgrade rate trends over time, and pinpoint the merchants or card segments that need attention to reduce interchange costs.

Equivalent of the Interchange Qualification dashboard.

Default view displays settled data only. Use the Funding Method filter to access conveyed data.

Default Measures

Both pivot tables on this dashboard draw from the same measure library — only their default selections differ. The eight measures below are what the Summary pivot shows when you open the dashboard; use the Measure control to swap in anything else from the library when the default view does not answer your question.

Measure

Description

Net Sales

The net revenue from sales after accounting for refunds.

% of Total Net Sales

The share of net sales out of grand total net sales.

Downgrade Sales

The sales volume processed at a downgraded interchange rate.

Downgrade Rate

The percentage of sales that incurred additional downgrade fees.

Transactions

The total count of all transactions, including both completed sales and refunds.

Average Sale

Average transaction value — net sales ÷ transactions.

Effective IC Rate

Interchange cost as a percentage of net sales. Net sales denominator excludes conveyed transactions.

Potential Savings

The estimated savings available from transactions eligible for interchange optimization, tokenization, and DCAP that have not yet been fully optimized.

Downgrade Rate by MOP Name (Multi-Line Chart)

A multi-line chart showing the downgrade rate trend over time, with one line per MOP.

  • Y-Axis: Downgrade Rate (%)

  • X-Axis: Date (configurable via Date Granularity: Y / Q / M / W / D — defaults to Daily)

  • Lines: selected Group dimension

This chart opens on Daily while the pivot tables open on Month. That is easy to miss: a daily downgrade rate is far noisier than a monthly one, so a line that looks alarmingly volatile here may be perfectly stable at the granularity the tables are using. Switch the chart to M before comparing it against either pivot.

Transactions/Net Sales by MOP Name (Stacked Bar Chart)

A stacked bar chart showing net sales broken down by MOP over time.

  • Y-Axis: Transactions, Net Sales, % of Total Transactions, % of Total Net Sales

  • X-Axis: Date

  • Segments: MOP

Use this chart to see the distribution of downgraded and optimal sales volume and how that mix shifts month over month. A growing share in downgrade categories signals increasing interchange costs.

Measure Library

The Detail pivot draws from the same measure library as the Summary pivot — the six columns named in its Measure control are simply its default selection. The full library is listed below, and any measure in it can be selected in either pivot, so use this table to work out what to add when the defaults do not tell the whole story.

Column

Description

Downgrade Savings

The estimated savings available from downgraded transactions that could be corrected and requalified at a better interchange rate.

Potential Savings

The estimated savings available from transactions eligible for interchange optimization, tokenization, and DCAP that have not yet been fully optimized.

Use as Filter

Any cell value in the pivot tables or any element in the charts can be used as a cross-dashboard filter. To apply:

  1. Right-click on any cell value or chart segment

  2. Select Use as Filter from the context menu

  3. The entire dashboard — both charts and tables — will update to reflect that selection

To remove the filter and return to the full view, click the Revert Use as Filter button in the top right corner of the dashboard.

This is useful for quickly drilling into a specific acquirer, qualification group, or card type across all components at once without manually adjusting each control.

Filtering Tips

Use the Filters button at the top right to refine your view:

  • Date Range for Charts and Data: Defaults to the last 13 months including the current month

  • Funding Method: Switch between Settled (default) and Conveyed data

  • Date Granularity: Switch between Yearly, Quarterly, Monthly, Weekly, and Daily. Each element carries its own control and they do not all start in the same place — the Downgrade Rate chart opens on Daily while everything else opens on Month

Use Case Example:

"We want to find out which acquirers are driving the most downgrade costs and whether it's getting worse."

  • Check the Downgrade Rate by MOP Name chart to see which lines are trending upward — these are your highest-risk MOPs. Switch it to Monthly first, since it opens on Daily and day-level downgrade rates are noisy

  • Right-click a line or bar segment and select Use as Filter to scope the entire dashboard to that selection instantly

  • Review the Summary Pivot Table — red-highlighted cells in Effective IC Rate and Downgrade Rate pinpoint the costliest acquirer / MOP combinations

  • Switch to the Detail Pivot Table to drill into specific qualification groups and IC descriptions to identify what's driving downgrade volume

  • Click Revert Use as Filter when done to return to the full portfolio view
