Local Currency Metrics Dashboard

The Local Currency Metrics Dashboard gives you a cross-currency view of your payment volumes and fees — comparing figures in both Settlement Currency (SC) and Reporting Currency (RC) across all your MIDs, acquirers, and DBA countries.

This dashboard is built for merchants processing in multiple currencies who need to reconcile what was actually settled in local currency against a unified reporting view.

Default view displays settled data only. To access conveyed data, use the "Txn : Funding Method" filter.

Data Table (Main View)

The primary view is a detailed table breaking down payment activity by Acquirer, DBA, and MID, with parallel columns for both Settlement and Reporting currencies. The Date Period defaults to the last 13 months including the current month.

Column

Description

Acquirer

The payment processor or acquiring bank handling settlement.

DBA Name

The Doing Business As name associated with the merchant account.

MID

Merchant ID — the unique identifier for each merchant account.

Settlement

The currency in which the transaction was settled by the acquirer (e.g., USD, CAD, JPY). Compare it with the Reporting value on the same row: where the two differ, the row is a cross-currency MID and FX conversion is in play.

Reporting

The currency used for reporting purposes (USD). It is the common basis that lets you compare MIDs settling in different currencies side by side.

Net Sales (SC)

Total net sales volume expressed in the Settlement Currency. Use this figure when reconciling against what the acquirer actually settled locally.

Total Fees (SC)

Total fees charged expressed in the Settlement Currency.

Net Sales (RC)

Total net sales volume converted into the Reporting Currency. Use this column, not the SC one, whenever you are totalling or ranking MIDs that settle in different currencies.

% of Total Net Sales (RC)

The share of total reporting-currency net sales across the groups selected. Read it to see where volume is concentrated — which acquirers, DBAs, or currencies carry most of the portfolio.

Total Fees (RC)

Total fees converted into the Reporting Currency.

Transactions

Count of all transactions processed in the selected period.

Effective Rate

Overall processing cost as a percentage of net sales.

On this dashboard the denominator excludes Conveyed funding — only settled net sales are counted. If a meaningful share of your volume is conveyed rather than settled, the Effective Rate shown here will differ from the rate on a view that includes conveyed volume, so check which basis you are looking at before comparing the two.

Rows where Settlement and Reporting currencies differ (e.g., JPY settled, USD reported) are your cross-currency MIDs — the RC columns show the FX-converted equivalent used in consolidated reporting.

Sankey Chart: Reporting Sales Flow

The Sankey chart visualizes how your Reporting Sales flow from country of origin → acquirer → settlement currency, making it easy to see your currency and acquirer concentration at a glance.

Configurable groups:

  • Group 1 – MID : DBA Country (where the merchant entity is registered)

  • Group 2 – MID : Acquirer (which processor handles each flow)

  • Group 3 – Currency : Settlement (the currency funds are settled in)

Each band in the chart represents a volume of Reporting Sales flowing through that path. Wider bands = higher sales volume. Hovering over a band shows the exact figure for that country → acquirer → currency combination.

Use the Sankey to quickly answer questions like: "Which acquirers are handling our non-USD settlement volume?" or "What share of our Japanese sales flows through each processor?"

The Group dropdowns are fully configurable — swap in dimensions like Card Brand or MOP to explore different views of your sales flow.

Filter Groups

Filters are organized into five tabs — MID, Card, Fee, IC, and Currency — each surfacing a different category of attributes.

  • MID – MID-level identifiers and hierarchy fields such as Acquirer, DBA, Region, Rollup groups, and merchant classification attributes

  • Card – Card brand, card type, and card-level transaction attributes

  • Fee – Fee category and fee code breakdowns

  • IC – Interchange-related attributes for drilling into IC cost components

  • Currency – Settlement and reporting currency filters

To access, click the Filters button at the top right of the dashboard.

Use Case Example:

"We process in multiple currencies and want to understand whether our costs are consistent across markets."

  • In the Data Table, sort by Effective Rate to identify MIDs where processing costs are disproportionately high relative to sales

  • Compare MIDs settling in local currency (e.g., CAD, JPY) against USD-settled MIDs — a higher Effective Rate in a specific currency may point to less favorable fee structures with that acquirer

  • Use the Sankey chart to see how sales flow across acquirers by country — if one acquirer handles a disproportionate share of a high-cost currency, consolidating or renegotiating may reduce overall costs

  • Apply the Currency filter to isolate a single settlement currency and benchmark its Total Fees (RC) against your portfolio average
